Rainbow Sharks are striking freshwater fish with sleek black bodies and vibrant red or orange fins. They are semi-aggressive bottom dwellers that require space and hiding places, making them best suited for larger community tanks with fast or mid-water tank mates.

  • pH: 6.8–7.8 (Adapted to Tallahassee tap water)

  • Hardness: 5–15 dGH

  • Temperament: Semi-aggressive, especially toward similar-shaped fish

  • Recommended Group Size: Best kept singly, or in very large tanks with careful planning

  • Minimum Tank Size: 30 gallons

  • Max Size: 6 inches

  • Diet: Fluval Bug Bites Bottom Feeder Formula, Hikari Algae Wafers, spirulina flakes, blanched vegetables, and frozen bloodworms or brine shrimp
