Balloon Molly

Balloon Mollies are a uniquely shaped livebearer known for their rounded, balloon-like bellies and peaceful temperament. Available in a variety of colors, they are hardy, active swimmers ideal for both beginner and experienced aquarists. They do best in lightly brackish to freshwater aquariums with stable water and plenty of swimming space.

  • pH: 7.0–8.5 — Adapted to Tallahassee tap water

  • Hardness: 10–25 dGH

  • Temperament: Peaceful and social

  • Recommended Group Size: 3 or more; best kept with other livebearers

  • Minimum Tank Size: 20 gallons

  • Max Size: 2.5–3 inches

  • Diet: Fluval Bug Bites Tropical Formula, Hikari Micro Pellets, spirulina flakes, and occasional blanched vegetables like zucchini or spinach
